POVcase
I built it.
The USPTO patented it.
Now it needs the right partner.
POVCase is a near-market smartphone accessory that lets creators frame themselves while recording with the phone’s higher-quality rear cameras.
Developed independently from concept through prototype engineering, manufacturing preparation, and patent issuance.
U.S. Patent No. 12,695,820 B2
Issued July 28, 2026
Acquisition • Exclusive Licensing
Use the best camera on the phone—and finally see yourself.
Smartphone creators often rely on lower-quality front-facing cameras because the rear cameras provide no convenient way to frame a self-recorded shot.
POVcase solves that problem by integrating a rear-facing viewfinder display directly into the protective smartphone case.
The display receives a live video feed through the smartphone’s USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode connection, allowing creators to compose and monitor shots while using the phone’s superior rear-camera system.
No separate monitor.
No complicated mounting system.
No improvised creator rig.
Just the phone, the case, and a live rear-camera viewfinder.
This is not just a patent on an idea.
POVcase has been developed as a real physical product platform.
The work completed includes:
Product concept and use case
A clearly defined solution for creators, vloggers, livestreamers, and mobile-video users.
Mechanical product design
Protective case architecture, component placement, display integration, openings, controls, and model-specific housing development.
Electronics architecture
PCB direction, display integration, USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode connectivity, protocol conversion, power management, and internal cabling.
Prototype development
Physical product development, component evaluation, assembly planning, and iterative design work.
Manufacturing preparation
Supplier research, component sourcing, modular architecture, and a standardized electronics core designed for use across multiple smartphone-specific housings.
Issued intellectual property
U.S. Patent No. 12,695,820 B2, supported by years of patent drafting, prosecution, examiner responses, amendments, and technical documentation.
Started in 2024. Patented in 2026.
POVcase began as an independently developed product concept in 2024.
Since then, the project has progressed through product architecture, mechanical and electronic development, prototype work, manufacturing research, a U.S. utility application, international patent activity, examiner interviews, claim amendments, and final patent issuance.
